She believes movement is a gateway to self-discovery and mastery. Through a mindful and systematic method involving self-awareness, movement, and intuitive eating she aims to help you cut through the complexity of health and wellness information to discover what best suits your needs and build confidence and appreciation along the way. 

Kelly's Roots in Wellness

Kelly's teaching and coaching is a collection of her lifelong search for wellness and wisdom.

At a young age, Kelly discovered the life changing effects of working diligently and persistently towards meaningful goals.

Growing up on a farm in Maryland she grew up caring for horses, mucking stalls, tossing hay bales, and reading her favorite books in the hayloft. She learned the importance of daily hard work, patience, and performing actions from the heart expecting nothing in return. With this experience she built a strong foundation in mental and physical strength.

She applied those same virtues to athletic and career goals. She went on to play Division 1 lacrosse at Johns Hopkins and become a certified personal trainer at the age of 18. She competed in road races including the Boston Marathon after qualifying in her first marathon, and worked every summer as an ocean lifeguard in Delaware. Throughout her college years she wrote a health and fitness column for the school newspaper, taught fitness classes and led fitness and wellness programs at the local running store helping her community stay fit and focused. 

After college and some time wanderlusting in Australia and Bali she continued to teach, write, and embark on new challenges in the field of fitness. She became a professional bodybuilder in the bikini division of the IFBB in 2010. She moved to Los Angeles and worked as an on camera fitness expert and fitness model.

After competing in back to back bodybuilding shows on the pro circuit she found herself on stage at the highest level of the sport, the Olympia, but realized she was immensely unfulfilled and this wasn't what being "fit" was about for her. She experienced health complications that resulted from the severely strict lifestyle and training that continued to escalate for years after her last show.

Being extremely proactive, courageous, and enthusiastic Kelly embarked on a new journey- one of healing. 

She immersed herself in restorative movement, yoga, meditation, and natural movement. In the process of her own healing she studied traditional oriental medicine, Ayurveda, and holistic approaches to healthcare to create balance and harmony in body, mind, and spirit. She found great joy in outdoor sports and hobbies like surfing, hiking, and climbing that brought her back to her roots and restored her on all levels. 

Through the culmination of her education and experiences she has discovered a more balanced and harmonious approach to wellness and discovered the essential elements of living a healthy and happy lifestyle. 

She shares this wisdom with clients and students via in person and online coaching, teaching classes and workshops, corporate wellness programs, freelance writing, speaking, and most importantly, walking the talk and living the lifestyle. 

Credentials and Work Experience

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania. She is a certified personal trainer, certified yoga teacher, and lifestyle & nutrition consultant.

Kelly specializes in creating customized fitness and lifestyle programs, and teaching meditation, mobility, yoga, and functional movement to individual clients and groups. For coaching please click here. 

She provides speeches and seminars, and weekly fitness and yoga classes for companies such as JR, the equipment division of Nike, and writes for magazines and websites such as American Athlete Magazine, Livestrong.com, Volleyball Magazine, and more.
