Breakfast Boost
You’ve heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but unfortunately it’s the most ignored. College life is notorious for nixing breakfast. It’s tempting to hit the snooze button and trade breakfast time for sleep time, but don’t fall prey. A nutritious breakfast first thing in the morning will provide you with more energy for the day then a couple extra minutes beneath the sheets.

“A breakfast so hearty and nutritious you’ll be all-knowing all day.”
Ingredients: 1/2 cup of dry old-fashioned oats
1 tsp. of cinnamon
1 tsp. of ground flax sees
1/2cup of sliced strawberries and blueberries
1/2 banana
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preparation: add 1/2 cup of low-fat, soymilk, or water to oats, microwave for 60-90 seconds or until oatmeal becomes fluffy.
Wash and slice fruit (any fruit can be substituted)
Add contents to cooked oatmeal, stir contents, and eat up!
Oatmeal has proven to be one of the most satisfying foods. This oatmeal concoction is packed with fiber and protein to keep you fuller longer so you can concentrate on your morning classes rather than what you’ll be having for lunch. The natural sugars (fructose) from the fruit provide your brain with the glucose it needs to get to work in the morning.
